Many people think that implementing the EFQM Excellence Model is a long, complex & expensive process. However, that isn’t necessarily true. Implementing the Model can be as simple or as complex as you choose to make it.

Any organization can be recognized through an assessment based on the EFQM Excellence Model. Recognition schemes are all about celebrating achievement & creating enthusiasm for progress. EFQM assessment is a great way to motivate your people and encourage systematic improvement. It provides a focus for learning and training. External assessments can serve as milestones during a long term program and demonstrate achievement to your people, suppliers and customers.

Benefits of applying for an EFQM assessment & receiving a recognition

  • Developing a culture of excellence
  • Receive Independent feedback on your strengths & areas for improvement

The EFQM Recognized for Excellence is a peer-assessment carried out by a team of trained assessors from our member organizations. The insights this assessment delivers will help you understand how well your current management practices perform and pinpoint where further improvements could be made.

The EFQM Excellence Award is organized once a year & it is designed to recognize Europe's best performing organizations, whether private, public or non-profit. It recognizes industry leaders with an indisputable track record of success in turning strategy into action and continuously improving their organization’s performance.

Organizations describe the Award as "like playing in the Champions League", because it is supported by one of the most rigorous assessment processes based on the EFQM Excellence Model. A team of international managers with different backgrounds spend one week on applicants’ site, or an average of 500 hours interviewing people at all levels and analyzing the organization’s performance.

The feedback from the assessor teams are then presented to an independent jury that decides the level of recognition for each Nominee. To win the EFQM Excellence Award, an applicant must be able to demonstrate that their performance not only exceeds that of their peers, but also that they will maintain this advantage into the future.
